Bring a copy of your driver's license and the vehicle registration (new residents may provide a copy of their lease or PSE&G utility bill) and (for non-resident) written authorization from local merchant or employer. The fee is $5.00 per year for residents ($1.00 for seniors) and $250 per year for non-residents. There is a special non-resident contractor rate of $5.00 per day, $125.00 for six months.
No permit will be issued until ALL summonses pending with the Jersey City Violations Bureau are settled!
To get a Resident permit, both the driver's license and the registration need to have the Jersey City address. Zone parking permits are only issued to residents of Jersey City or to non-residents employed in Jersey City. Permits are not issued to commuters!
